FORE!

Now that the weather has gotten warmer, all we do really is play outside with Aidan. He loves to play outside, and his favorite activity is GOLF! We think he might be the next Tiger Woods, as he's actually pretty good to be 19 months old. If not, he has a great time playing nonetheless.

Who says you need clothes to play golf??

Really, is there anyone cuter than this guy?

These are a few of my favorite recent pictures of Aidan. He is such a little camera hog!

Like father, like son! They love to sit out on the back porch and keep an eye on the neighborhood. It looks like they're sharing a funny joke here.

Aidan amused himself for a long time learning to throw that ball all over the patio. That's probably a skill I could've waited on. Now he likes to throw everything!

Look at this pose!

And another pose!

He loves his Laugh and Learn house!

Pics from our playgroup!

We had playgroup at our new house a few weeks back, and the kids had a great time. The weather was beautiful and everyone played hard. Here are a few pics:

Easter Egg Hunt!

We went to my friend Jenny's house for a wonderful Easter Egg Hunt. Aidan had such a great time...there were probably 30 kiddos there! I had lots of fun catching up with my Mommy friends.

Baskets ready to be filled...

He really liked the running part, at least!

Eyeing someone else's eggs. .. I had to convince him not to swipe eggs from the other baskets! :)

Okay, enough. Just let me eat some of them!

Yummy! (Even with the wrapper still on!) Good thing he doesn't know what candy is yet!

It's been a long time!

It's been over a month since I updated this blog! That's a long long time in toddler years - they change so fast! Aidan is now 16 months and living in a new house - with the rest of us of course. It's like a whole new playground.... brand new cabinets to destroy, toilets to flush, and otherwise. This kid is INTO EVERYTHING! We finally got all the cabinets locked up, because we couldn't keep up with him. He's also enjoying his new back yard, newly fenced. As the weather is getting warmer, he's becoming quite the little yard-work helper, and just LOVES to be outside.
He is progressing so fast, too..... he doesn't walk anymore, he runs. And he is talking up a storm! He repeats pretty much anything we say, which is going to get us in trouble if we're not careful. Some new words he's saying - "boo" to represent "booty" - he points to his diaper! Cracker, POP (for his Poppy), Kizzy (our schnauzer), and others.
Here are a few recent pics of the little man!

My Funny Valentine

My friend Stacey gave Aidan these adorable pajamas that her son Brandon had outgrown. I thought they worked perfectly for Valentines Day, so of course, I had to snap a few pictures of my little sweetie. This one was my favorite...Happy Valentines Day!

Snow Day!

On Thursday, February 1, Aidan experienced his first-ever snowfall! We took him outside to play, which was lots of fun, but he didn't have gloves so the fun was short-lived. We kept him out there just long enough to get some photo opportunities, as you can see below!
This looks like it might be fun...

Having a great time so far...

Well, I don't really like it on my hands...

Snow is best seen from the porch!

Buying a new house

Well, we finally found a house we want, and our offer was accepted! Now we just have to sell the one we're in (hopefully really really soon!!).
Our house has been good to us for 5 years, but we've outgrown it and we are looking forward to moving into a bigger, better house.
Here are a few pictures of the new place...

Overeaters Anonymous

If I had a nickel for every time someone told me "I've never seen a kid eat so much", I would be a very rich woman. It's nothing for Aidan to polish off 2 scrambled eggs and a whole banana for breakfast. Sometimes I think he eats more than me. I realized tonight that most of the pictures I have of him are eating because, well, that's what he's usually doing.... sitting in his highchair stuffing his face.

In these pics, you can also see that he's learning how to pitch a fit. If we don't get the food to him fast enough or if he doesn't get exactly his way, he lets us know about it.

He loves broccoli!

A mouth full of something!

Ahhhh.... a full tummy, finally!

Where does the time go?

I realized tonight that I don't really have a baby anymore. He is looking more and more like a little person and less like a little baby. Except for his nighttime rocking routine, which I have a definite love-hate relationship with, he's all but grown up. At 14 months, it just hit me.

He's learned the word "no" and uses it at every chance he gets.

When I tell him I have to go to work in the morning, he starts waving bye bye to me (although his gesture really looks more like "come here", but it's the thought that counts, right?)

When I talk about one of the dogs, Maddux or Kizzy, he makes his adorable barking noise, which goes something like "ahh, ahh, ahh."

When we put him in his high chair, he immediately starts chanting "ish, ish, ish"... which means fish, goldfish... but really means any kind of snack like puffs, cheerios, crackers.... they're all "ish".

He definitely has an opinion about what he wants most of the time - sometimes he just struggles to communicate that want to us, which leads to his new favorite thing to do - throw a temper tantrum. As fun as that is, I'm hoping that as he learns more words, that frustration will subside.

Aidan Walking!

Some recent pictures of Aidan's newest skill!

The Beginning of this Blog

As Aidan is almost 14 months, and still doesn't have a real baby book, I decided to start a blog to document his growth and changes, as they're happening so quickly these days!

Early in December, Aidan took his very first steps at around 13 months. In a month, he is a full-fledged walker, and almost a jogger! He can say all kinds of words such as "nana" (banana), "duck", "bye", and of course, "no". Sometimes he even imitates our dogs by barking! It's hysterical.

I will try to update this blog every couple of weeks to keep everyone informed on how we're doing and how our little sweetie is growing!
