Aidan is going to be a cowboy for Halloween this year. So far, so good. Last year, he was less than impressed by the lion costume I bought him, I think it was the big fuzzy headpiece. We went for something significantly less fussy this year. I've tried it on him a couple of times so he's used to it. I think we might actually get to do a little trick or treating this year!
And just because I can't resist taking pictures of him, here are a couple of more.

Aidan's first haircut!
Well, it only took 2 weeks shy of 2 years before the boy finally needed a haircut! Friday, October 26 (also our 5th wedding anniversary), we took Aidan to get the baby mullet cut. I'm so glad we did, it looks so much better now!

Marina was awesome. She was quick and accurate. The shiny silver car and the Disney movie kept Aidan occupied. He was on his best behavior!
And AFTER - what a great haircut!

Arizona and Vegas trip
October 20, Greg and I flew to Phoenix to go to my friend Karen's wedding. Karen and I have been friends for about as long as I remember. I know we were in 1st grade together, and I think we may have even been in preschool together. She and her fiance Anthony got married in Sedona, AZ on 10/21/07. Greg and I met another childhood friend Shannon and her boyfriend Brad at the airport in Phoenix. Karen is the one in purple. We rented a white Chrysler Pacifica and made the 2 hour trek to Sedona. We stayed 2 nights in Sedona, and had a wonderful time at the wedding. Sedona was absolutely gorgeous.
Next stop was VEGAS! On the way, we went to the Grand Canyon. What an amazing site to see. It was freezing up there, so we didn't spend much time, but wow, it was incredible.
On our way to Vegas, we had to drive by the Hoover dam. It would've been exciting to see, but the traffic was backed up for hours and we were all less than impressed by the Hoover Dam. We sat in this spot with this view of the dam for a few hours.
We FINALLY got to Vegas Monday night, and checked into the Luxor.
It was a great hotel. We went to a Mexican restaurant in the hotel and did a little gambling. Shannon wasn't feeling well so she went to bed. Brad, Greg and I went out walking on the Strip and took some pictures.
Tuesday was sightseeing hotel. I think we went into every hotel in Vegas and it was so much fun. Tuesday night we went to Cirque de Soleil "KA" and talk about amazing. It was a great show. We then had dinner in the fancy schmancy steakhouse Craft Steaks in MGM Grand. Yum. We gambled some more and went to bed late. Wednesday morning, it was already time to go home. What a great, albeit too short trip!
Catching up on 3 months for this blog
So I'm not a very good blogger it seems. I can't stay caught up. I'm going to attempt to do so with this post, we'll see how it goes.
A lot has happened in the past 3 months. We went on a week-long trip to Ocean Isle beach in August. It was a wonderful vacation for the whole family. 12 people and 7 dogs in one house - what could be better?
In September, Aidan started PRESCHOOL! Now he's been there for over a month and loves it! It's been really good for him too. I can tell that he listens better and gets along with other kids. It's so fun to watch him grow and develop (even if it happens too fast!).
We still go to our Sunday playgroup and Aidan has made some great friends. It's mostly wild and crazy boys in the group, although there are 2 little girls as well. Here are a few recent pictures of the kiddos:

More new pictures!
Aidan is growing up so quickly it's mind-boggling. He probably says 100 words - maybe not quite that many, but we've never counted. Some of his favorites are:
- NO! He is quite opinionated and doesn't mind telling you exactly what he wants, even if he doesn't know the words to use. Grunts and points are big. If we don't figure it out precisely quick enough, a full on temper tantrum will ensue. We have been working on whining, and Mommy has started saying "No one likes a whiner" way too often. Hopefully, this stage will pass!
- Mote! - As in reMOTE control. He is obsessed with TV, even though he doesn't get to watch it very often. We turn it on when Mommy is getting ready for work in the mornings, because the Wiggles are on at 7:00 am, and they are his absolute favorites. Mommy and Daddy sometimes want to gouge their eyes out listening to the same songs over and over again, but it keeps him happy. When he yells MOTE and we don't indulge him right away, a full on temper tantrum will ensue. Again, hopefully this stage will pass. Here he is, after he conned his Pop into turning on Finding Nemo. No wonder he likes him so much!
- Jeff !!!- As in, WAKE UP JEFF! (It's from the Wiggles, and goes along with the Wiggles discussion above.
- Kizzay! - Our little dog, Kizzy, is Aidan's best friend. He loves to call her - "KIZZAAAAAAY! She doesn't like him quite as much as Aidan likes her, but at least she tolerates him. Here is the object of his affection:
- Pop - Besides calling Poppy Pop, he also loves the Dr. Seuss book "Hop on Pop" and asks us to read it at least once a day. Here is Daddy reading to him.
- "Boo" - as in BLUEBERRIES! His favorite food in the world! Luckily, his Granny brings them to him by the bagful. Here he is enjoying a homemade blueberry smoothie Mommy made for him!
- Bubs - as in Bubbles! He loves them. Whether on this bubble blower or his new bubble blowing lawn mower, bubbles are always a big hit!
Here is one family shot from Memorial Day!
Fun in the Sun
Here are a few recent pictures of Aidan...
At the neighborhood pool party... he loved the baby pool!
Having a laugh with Pop....
Poppy is one of his favorite people, and is always good for a laugh. It's funny if Poppy tries to walk away from playing with Aidan - he yells "Popppppppppppppppp". He demands his constant attention!
Having a drink ... He won't run through the sprinkler, but he loves to say "duck". He'll drink out of it though!
Another sprinkler shot....

Naked baby in the back yard! We took his clothes off because he was so wet from the sprinkler. Of course, we didn't count on the fact that he would then want to play golf naked too!
